An axis tilt, a drop in temperature, and a shift in seasons. India is preparing for one of the best seasons to visit the peninsula, which is approaching winter. India's winter months offer vacations you could organize your whole year around, sultry beach resorts, picture-perfect hill stations, and its southern tips and desserts that entice all of its travelers who had been put off by the country's abundant humidity and heat. Here is a list of 12 places in India to visit in the winter.



With apple orchards, pine trees, and ancient oaks scattered throughout, Auli boasts an abundance of natural beauty. You may enjoy the stunning views of the snow-covered peaks by going on a number of trips across the Garhwal Himalayan mountains in addition to skiing. Set 2730 metres above sea level in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir's Pir Panjal Range, Gulmarg is a popular ski resort. Nestled between the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, flower-filled meadows, deep canyons, and valleys of evergreen forests, Gulmarg is home to the world's second-highest Gondola ride.


Sonamarg, a town in Jammu and Kashmir, captivates tourists with its serene lakes, snow-covered plains, and magnificent glaciers. Translation: "the Meadow of gold." Sonamarg is a lovely village located about 80 km northeast of Srinagar, at an elevation of around 2800 km above sea level.


The summers are hot and humid, and Kerala is a well-liked winter getaway. renowned for having the largest tiger reserve in the country, beaches, backwaters, shimmering vegetation, Ayurvedic spas, backcountry hikes, hill towns, and more—all wrapped up in one of the most colorful and bountiful displays of culture and the arts. This is one of the most sought-after winter resorts in India.


The one hill station in North India that you have to go to in the winter is Manali. Whether your travel intentions are for a honeymoon, family holiday, adventure trail, or a winter retreat among its infinite white, snow-covered plains, there are far too many pathways that will take you here this winter. In the unlikely event that you find yourself in Kullu during Dussehra, be sure to attend the temple celebrations.


With its gorgeous glittering beaches, azure lagoons, and a hint of history, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, which are located around 1,400 kilometers off the east coast of India, are a tiny bit of paradise. Within the union territory, there are just 37 inhabited islands out of 572 total, and only a small number of them are open to tourists.


To spend this winter on a religious and spiritual journey and make the most of the cooler temperatures and pleasanter winds, walk from the Golden Temple to the City of Temple and up to the sacred caves at Vaishno Devi. These sister hill settlements, characterised by a strong Tibetan influence, Buddhism, and spirituality, are beautiful year-round, but they are especially lovely in the winter.
