Assam
Assam sprawls languidly like one gigantic primaeval organism, perfectly placed along the Brahmaputra valley. It is without a doubt the biggest and most accessible of all the Northeastern States of India. In terms of appearance and culture, Assam is somewhat superior than the other six sister states. Its many features include a long number of Hindu temples that are the top attractions, cuisine with different flavours and scents, no permit needs, a warm and inviting local populace, a thriving artistic legacy, and a gorgeous and artistic location enhanced by unique dance styles. The rice fields and aromatic tea estates that encircle it form a serene, well framed backdrop of green and golden tones that perfectly captures the essence of the Assamese countryside. The highlands of Meghalaya and Nagaland, along with the blue mountains of Arunachal Pradesh, complete this magnificent scenery.

Assam has managed to maintain its identity and autonomy despite the linguistic and cultural influx of West Bengal and Odisha, its adjacent states. Assamese men's white and crimson neckties, known as gamosas, and women's traditional mekhola sadar outfits serve as external symbols of the state's identity and regional dress. Nevertheless, the tasty fish tenga is a well-known feature of the regional cuisine. Because Assam is a small Indian state that maintains all of this and more, it is a popular tourist destination.
